Volvo All Access Tour


OBJECTIVES: Volvo Cars of North America wanted to market its new S-40 sedan to a younger demographic. The company commissioned a forty-city mobile marketing tour of the vehicle in association with live appearances by singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw. Volvo’s reputation for advanced design and meticulous attention to detail called for an exhibit that embodied those traits.

SOLUTIONS: Two mobile outdoor exhibit kits were built consisting of signage arches, interactive kiosks, and graphic-wrapped trailers (not shown). Volvo-branded arches, constructed from polished aluminum, featured lifestyle graphics and double-sided wood-finished headers with vinyl decals of the Volvo logo. The interactive kiosks included a 360-degree holographic view of the vehicle, as well as an audio presentation with product information and music.

The kiosks were equipped with infrared activation systems and wireless remote controls. Branded hoods were used to shade the projection area and ensure that the Volvo name and lifestyle graphics would also be visible from above (escalators, stairs, and elevators).

RESULTS: Each mobile exhibit kit was easy to manage and was assembled on site by marketing personnel. Lead information was successfully collected and distributed to car dealerships from thousands of prospective Volvo buyers in the nation’s top forty markets.
