Toyota Motor Sales - Tundra Hitch Receiver Display
OBJECTIVES: As part of its traveling promotion for the 2007 Tundra, Toyota Motor Sales USA wished to demonstrate its new back-up camera feature and how it makes towing easier.
SOLUTIONS: MDS created an interactive display with oversized graphics and a built-in trailer hitch. When attendee drivers backed Tundra trucks up to the trailer, an infrared system detected when the receiver ball was precisely in line with the hitch tongue, thus activating two fire engine-style lights to indicate a successful “hook.”
RESULTS: This portion of the Tundra mobile marketing promotion is currently proving to be one of the most popular features of the promotion. Toyota executives have praised it as a powerful and fun demonstration of the benefits of the new back-up camera.
