Toyota Motor Sales - Component Displays


OBJECTIVES: As part of a nationwide mobile marketing promotion for the 2007 Tundra, Toyota Motor Sales USA required a series of interactive kiosks outfitted to illustrate how the new truck’s enhanced mechanical features -- including braking, power, stability control, and drive train -- compared to the competition.

SOLUTIONS: Three double-sided kiosks (two shown above), each featuring two “stories” demonstrating the Tundra’s mechanical features, were fabricated using mill finish aluminum and weather-resistant, hand-stained, Alder wood. On two of the kiosks, samples of mechanical components from the Tundra and from a competitive truck were placed side-by-side. Accompanying graphics and text explained how the Tundra components improved the vehicle’s performance as compared to the competition. In some cases, as in the braking display shown above, visitors were able to see the components in action by pressing a button electronically activating the mechanized components.

The third double-sided kiosk, (not shown) included built-in computers and video monitors displaying television commercials and an interactive “build your own Tundra" website.

RESULTS: This portion of the traveling promotion is being lauded as a highly effective means of educating consumers on the overall design superiority of the all-new Tundra.
